Indigenous Women and Peoples Association of Chad (AFPAT)


AFPAT is a non-political and non-profit organization created in 1999 and was officially authorized to operate in 2005. Its main objective is to improve the living conditions of the Peul populations, in particular the "Mbororos", through the promotion of human rights, Indigenous Peoples' rights and the protection of the environment within the framework of three conventions: the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), commonly known as the Rio Convention, the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
