Our work

The Indigenous Learning Platform is developed by the FSC-IF in the framework of the IPARD program.

About the FSC-IF:

The FSC Indigenous Foundation (FSC-IF) is an Indigenous-led global entity part of the Forest Stewardship Council family co-creating Indigenous forest-nature-based solutions and promoting Indigenous rights and Indigenous holistic-development worldwide.

Our vision is that the global value of Indigenous Peoples and their rights, livelihoods, ecosystem services, natural capital and territories are recognized and incorporated into forest governance, climate finance and funding mechanisms, and market systems.

Our mission is to create the enabling environment to secure Indigenous Peoples’ rights, value and promote sustainable forest-based solutions within the 300 million hectares of Indigenous forests on the planet.

About IPARD:

The Indigenous Peoples Alliance for Rights and Development (IPARD) is a global development alliance convening multi-sector partners to secure Indigenous Peoples’ rights, strengthen capacities and catalyze economic self-development.

IPARD is implemented by the FSC Indigenous Foundation (FSC-IF) and was created and is currently funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) with private sector partners.

IPARD’s vision will be achieved through three objectives:

  1. Organize and convene a Capacity Development Program for Indigenous Peoples’ organizations and stakeholders, such as government entities and the private sector;

  1. Foster an enabling and authorizing environment for Indigenous Peoples’ effective participation and joint decision-making in matters affecting them;

  1. Promote business opportunities and partnerships for Indigenous Peoples' sustainable development based on innovative economic models.
