Despite over 50 years of independence, Africa’s colonial encounter with European and Arab colonizers continues to have an overbearing influence on everyday life and socio-political systems across education, health, law, policing, music, amongst others. However, we know that no society can develop sustainably without being liberated from the mental shackles of its oppressor and a solid connection to its heritage and its own version of history across social life. It is on this basis that the Unveiling Africa Foundation is training and equipping Africans on the continent and beyond with the knowledge and skills that they need to solve Africa’s pressing socio-economic problems in a culturally grounded yet globally relevant way.
