The World Health Organisation attributes 3.8 million premature deaths to air pollution every year, and the problem is particularly acute in fast-growing mega-cities in developing countries. Open-seneca is developing a global, low-cost, mobile air pollution sensor network, driven by citizen science to raise awareness, initiate behaviour change and inform policy.
