Association for Land Reform and Development (ALRD)


Association for Land Reform and Development (ALRD) was established in January 1991 as a single focused Rights based independent National Policy Advocacy and Networking Organisation committed to the promotion and strengthening of land rights and agrarian reform.

ALRD’s mission is to create an enabling environment through which it aims to:

1. Ensures a pro-poor, gendered, inclusive of Indigenous Peoples and all other marginalized communities’ policy changes in land and natural resources ownership and management based on the principles of equity and justice by carrying out advocacy and research activities.

2. Empowers peoples and communities by means of networking, research, mobilization, information dissemination, legal support, capacity building and awareness raising of partners and stakeholders at local and national levels.

3. Foster solidarity, alliance and collaboration amongst organizations and networks at regional and international levels towards sustainable use of earth’s resources against increasing over-exploitation by neo-liberal trade regimes.
