The Interethnic Association for the Development of the Peruvian Rainforest (AIDESEP) is the spokesperson organization of the Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon of our country, which works for the defense and respect of their collective rights through actions to expose their problems and present their alternative development proposals, according to their worldview and lifestyle.
AIDESEP is led by a National Board of Directors elected periodically every 3 years by its regional bases: 9 decentralized organizations located in the north, center and south of the Peruvian jungle.
In turn, it has 109 federations that also participate in the elections through National Congresses. These represent 1,809 communities where more than 650,000 Indigenous men and women live, grouped in 19 linguistic families.
