The Council of the Charrúa Nation of Uruguay (CONACHA) is currently made up of 10 organizations and communities from different parts of Uruguay. One of its main objectives is to achieve recognition of the current indigenous population, achieve the ratification of ILO Convention 169 and increase the visibility of the indigenous issue, achieve an increase in indigenous self-identification in Uruguay.
