The Peasant Confederation of Peru was founded on April 11, 1947, as the culmination of a process of unity between peasant communities, braceros, yanacones and indigenous peoples of the jungle, who were fighting for land. The CCP is made up of 19 departmental federations, which mainly bring together peasant and native communities, small producers, community and/or service companies, producer committees, agrarian leagues, sectoral associations and federations, such as peasant women, sugar growers, peasant rounds, producers of coca leaf, alpaca producers, displaced persons and artisans.
