Unpaid care work - Womankind Worldwide

In the Global South the gender gap in unpaid care work is even greater, particularly as additional tasks such as fetching water or firewood are necessary. In Africa, south of the Sahara, 71% of the burden of collecting water for households falls on women and girls who combined spend daily an average of 200 million hours collecting water.
