It has been 50 years since Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme first held a summer-speech in Almedalen, Sweden in 1968, thereby establishing Sweden’s — and one of the world’s — most important democratic meeting places. This year, the Raoul Wallenberg Institute’ agenda is to put human rights front and center at the full-week democratic gathering on the Baltic island outside of Stockholm.
