La Estrella de Panama originates with The Panama Star newspaper, founded on February 24, 1849 by JB Bidleman, SK Donaire and JF Bachman, who, attracted by the California gold rush, arrived on the steamer "Oregon" to Isthmus lands. . The founders of this newspaper followed their path and from November of that same year the newspaper was led by Peyton Middleton, and his brother Lewis A Middleton, who considered this as another hobby.
