Federación Pilagá


The Pilagá Federation, officially the Federation of Communities of the Pilagá People, is an indigenous organization in Argentina, which brings together the communities of the Pilagá ethnic group. The Federation brings together 22 communities, which in 2011 totaled some 6,000 people, who live in the Patiño department of the province of Formosa, located in the central region of the Chaco plain, where the ancestral lands of the Pilagá people are located. In 2011, the Pilagá Federation was the first indigenous organization in Argentina to be recognized by the National Registry of Indigenous Peoples Organizations (RENAPI).
